Suzanne Brault

Fragments

Suzanne Brault was a free-spirited artist. After working for years as an interior designer, she joined a group of Sutton artists who, under the wing of Vicki Tansey, met regularly to explore their creative potential. There she discovered the exploration of form and color, and developed a dazzling passion for paint, ink and pastel. It didn’t take long for her to develop a distinctive signature: her abstract-inspired art won over many hearts, notably when she took part in the Tour des Arts 2022.

Suzanne Brault’s painting is unconventional. Her composition, choice of hues and relationship between forms attempt to transcend a certain pictorial tradition. The lines are sometimes straight, sometimes cellular, and, along with the colors, participate in a vital manifestation. A state of being focused on the present, like her fight against cancer. Between the shapes she creates, colors unfold and express mystery. The painter plays and doubts and plays again with this something that escapes her.

In January 2023, cancer took the life of this spirited artist. But Suzanne Brault left a unique artistic and human imprint on the community. A few works remain ― fragments of her short career ― and are exhibited for the last time at the TLB. An opportunity not to be missed to discover and appreciate this inspired artist.

The opening will take place on Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 7 pm.

The exhibition runs until April 30, 2024 – opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 1 pm to 5 pm and 1 hour before each show.
