Émilie Bernard Exhibit

Une danse délicate

For Emilie Bernard, melodies, images and words form precious, almost indissociable alliances. In recent years, photography has become a necessity, a crazy pleasure, a daily meditation, a way to (un)surrender, to heal the heart. Her love of nature and her unbreakable bond with it is at the center of her practice-ritual.

Here, everything is cycle and impermanence. Through her images, we are invited to enter into a close relationship with nature, the richness and perfection of the elements, often in the most bare of ways. She is there, with humility and strength, embracing the rhythm, the births, the immensity, the inevitable finitude, the powerful fragility of all that is.

Each image is accompanied by a few words: those that were there, dormant, at the moment of taking the picture. It is a question of crossed mourning. Slowly. In silence. Of landmarks lost and then found again, through thousands of car rides or on foot, to anchor the breath again, watching the vegetation and the light unfold and transform.

Our seasons.

The exhibition runs through April 30, 2023 – hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 1 hour before each show.
