Théo Bignon

COSTUME JEWELRY
Théo Bignon creates embroideries, objects and installations that examine the intersections between practices of desire, queer socializations and notions of ornamentation and decoration. He borrows his techniques from embellishing crafts such as beading and embroidery to question notions of artificiality and excess, and to consider their historical exclusions in the dominant artistic discourse. He sees in these decorative practices a rich terrain for artistic and subversive intervention, where the work of the hand echoes the malleability essential to the constitution of *2SLGTBQIA+ identities.
The exhibition runs from February 12 to May 8, 2025.
Come and meet the artist at the vernissage on March 12, at 7 pm.
