Artist residencies

Théâtre Lac-Brome offers artists a unique space in which to bring their projects to life. Thanks to our artistic residencies, musicians, comedians, actors, authors and artists of all disciplines can take advantage of a fully-equipped performance environment to perfect their work.

Whether rehearsing, adjusting sets or fine-tuning lighting, our residencies enable artists to work in optimal conditions. The TLB is much more than a stage: it’s a place of creation where inspiration and technique meet.

These residencies also represent added value for our audiences, who often have the privilege of attending the very first performance of these new shows.

We’re proud to support creativity and offer every artist the space to conceive, rehearse and shine.

Catherine Major – from February 3 to 7

It’s our great privilege to welcome Brome Lake resident Catherine Major in residence at TLB the week of February 3, 2025. This talented artist will be putting the finishing touches to her brand-new show, La mémoire du corps, which will premiere on our stage on February 7.

It’s an honor for us to support artistic creation and witness the birth of this unique project. Don’t miss this exceptional evening, when Catherine Major will share her captivating universe with us for the very first time!

Billy Thiffault – from February 15 to 21

A residence powered by Parcours Cré’Ados

As part of the Parcours Cré’Ados residency projects, actor Billy Thiffaut-Lavoie will perfect his next show at the TLB from February 15 to 21, 2025.

How do we move from childhood to adulthood? Is our path determined by where we were born? How do you embark on an artistic career in an environment where culture is not valued? Are we all determined by our school results, do we all have the same type of intelligence? How can we give hope to young people in difficulty at school when motivation is no longer there?

“I’ve been asking myself all these questions along the way, and they’ve finally culminated in a project that I’ve been working on for almost a year now. Written autobiographically, this project tells the story of the path taken by an unmotivated 18-year-old, already too old to be in high school, to become the artist I am today. From my native Rimouski to the great metropolis of Montreal, I retrace this pivotal phase during which I was balancing between late adolescence and early adulthood.”
